Facetracker with VSeeFace

Even though VSeeFce uses OpenSeeFace itself the webcam based tracking does not work on Linux due to limitations of the Wine / Proton Webcam API. Therefore we need to use an external OpenSeeFace tracker such as Facetracker.

Assuming you already have installed VSeeFace on your Linux machine using Bottles, Lutris, PlayOnLinux or similar tools you just have to do the following:

  1. Start VSeeFace.
  2. Right in the main ui on the top right set Camera to [OpenSeeFace tracking]
  3. Make sure Port matches the port in Facetracker.

Note: If you change IP to an IP-Address on your local network running Facetracker you can get tracking data from that device.

  1. Afterwards choose your Avatar or click on Start to use the default one provided.

VSeeFace should pick up the tracking data from Facetracker right away.
